Create Your Own T Shirt, Stand Out in a Crowd
You can create your own t shirt in a matter of minutes simply by taking an old shirt and adding something to it. Many teenagers shop at the local thrift stores for used t shirts and create their own logos and designs on them to make them stand out in a crowd. Creating your own t shirt can be a fun and rewarding activity for young and old alike. Some call it 'wearable art.'
If you are adventurous enough and have the time and own a sewing machine or can borrow one, you can start from scratch and make your own t shirt, then create the design on the t shirt. Most fabric stores carry t shirt material and you can find a pattern which are usually very simple to navigate and then sew together to make your very own t shirt. Then the fun part is creating the design or what you want to put on the t shirt to make it stand out from the rest of the everyday, ordinary t shirts you see from day to day. There are countless items you can sew on to a t shirt, such as buttons and patches or ribbons or charms to make a unique and one-of-a-kind design t shirt.
There are many websites on the Internet which allow you to create your own t shirt using a template or your own design which you would be asked to upload in to their program and once the custom t shirt is completed, you will be sent the shirt in about a week or so. If you choose to go the route of using the template, the computer will walk you through the process step by step and give you options along the way. You will be asked if you want to upload your own design or a photograph at a certain point in the creative process or you can choose from the many designs the website has on their menu. Many of the popular designs, such as company logos and television names, have been paid for or negotiated for their use. This might make the price a little higher, but usually not that much.
There are many ways to create your own t shirt, such as with a photograph. There are kits at the craft stores that will help you transfer a photograph, and it doesn't have to be a newer picture, it can be an older one and look like a vintage T Shirt, on to the t shirt with very little trouble. There are also websites and places you can take your photograph and t shirt to have them help you create your own wearable piece of art work. If you happen to find an old photograph in grandpa's attic, why not transfer it on to an old t shirt and create a vintage looking t shirt? People will be asking you, "Where did you get that?" and you can proudly proclaim you created the t shirt yourself.

Does anyone know where the "Morris" 5 cent to $1.00 stores were located? Maybe in Michigan...not sure
I bought a vintage Singer sewing machine and in one of the drawers was a button card with 4 buttons on it and on the back of the card was the store price tag. It read: Morris 5 cent to $1.00 stores below that it said 77-34 and below that the price of 10 cents for waht would have been 8 buttons. Just wondering where these 5 and dime stores were located if anyone knows. Any info would be helpful
