Sewing Accessories
Every person who is into sewing or craft knows that over time they will have a very large collection of accessories. These can be paper accessories such as sewing patterns, patchwork patterns, crochet patterns, knitting patterns and quilting books. Such accessories need to be stored flat for optimum protection so that they will give years of service and value for money.
A storage cabinet or shelf set with rather shallow drawers is the best way to store paper patterns or craft books. That way you don’t have to remove too much to reach the one that is underneath.
But then there are the fabric accessories such as quilting fabric or even that bargain piece of dress material or furry teddy bear material that you simply had to have. These sewing accessories need to be stored in a place that is free of dust and that bugs cannot penetrate. A camphorwood chest is ideal as insects do not like the smell of the camphor. Materials can be rolled up to prevent them from creasing.
More bulky items are craft kits such as your Kaffe Fassett quilting kits or textile art kits that contain everything you need to complete a project. All the bits and pieces should be kept together so that all is at hand when you need to work on the project. A cupboard with deeper shelves is ideal of storing such things.
And if you work on craft projects containing smaller parts such as hotfix crystals or beads, small boxes with compartments are ideal for storage. These can be stacked on the shelf in your storage cupboard for easy access. Then if you are really into designing and creating your own quilt patterns, you will need a place to store your eq6 software, but that is easy.
