Dressing Your Baby - Inexpensive Unique Technique Exposed

Baby clothes? Just buying two outfits at the Gap could put you in hot water for the month for the bills. It’s expensive to buy baby clothes these days. As a parent, what do you do?

Let’s take an example from Art. A movement called Postmodernism means you can do anything you want. Basically, it boils down to you take a melding of things that were, that came before and put a new spin on it. Now how in the world does this Art related word correlate with baby clothes? It can relate any way you want it to.

Are you tired of the same old things for baby? Maybe you are the mother who feels the baby clothes are too predictable with their ruffled necklines or the hems of ribbons and all the pink and blues you can handle. Are you the mother who is on their second or third child and upset that the clothes have not changed from your first child? You are getting tired of looking at the same style of clothing over and over again. Maybe you are the time of person who doesn’t have time nor doesn’t care to shop every two weeks when your baby outgrows the clothing you buy. In any of these cases and more, there’s a way to ease your frustration.

Take a look around your house. There are a lot of things that are not baby clothes but certainly could be. Like what? Well, how about bandanas? Your baby is tiny… so is the bandana. Think of it this way. If the teenybopper girls can wear the bandanas as a top, imagine a baby wearing one. These are great summer clothes that can be used as a shirt or even a diaper cover. All you need to do is do a bit of stitching and snipping without the sewing and you have got more clothing. Not only all that but with a bit more stitching and snipping, you can have a pair of pants.

Another thing that can be made into infants and toddler clothing are baby doll t-shirts that have been made for young women. These are perfect to make a dress out of.
The writing may not seem “baby-ish” but at least they have some unbiased fashions that are considered fancy than you can find at the same cost in baby’s garments.

Think of all the clothes that you have in your closet? All those worn out, can’t wear clothing just taking up space while you decide if you are going to take them to the Goodwill or just toss them out. Why not use those outfits for some unique baby clothes? This is a wonderful way to save money. Taking a shirt that you once loved but have firmly outgrown or the one stretched out and turning it into a baby outfit is a great way to salvage the shirt material and made into a whole outfit for the baby. A simple pattern can be bought for about $2.

Besides clothing and bandanas, a normal sized towel can be made into an infant robe or even a baby towel. Just by adding accents and a hood to it, can change that drably towel into something extraordinary. It’s something else for the baby to have and your way of saving money at the same time.

The best part is…all these items will be baby unique. No others will have the same as your baby if you make all your baby’s outfits. So let the mind wander around and think what kind of things can you do today.

Basic Preemie Gown Sewing Pattern?

I need a simple basic sewing pattern for a preemie gown. The baby is about 3 pounds, I used to have the gowns but no longer have the patterns. Very simple, open front (close with Velcro) open bottom, long sleeve. If someone could send me a link or has a pattern that would be great!
