Will my antique sewing machine sew multiple layers of leather?
It's an old antique Singer model trendle with electric motor with all metal gears. I was wondering if it is heavy duty enough to sew about two or three layers of leather, denim, canvas, etc...thanks.

Depends on the leather and on how well the machine has been maintained. Up to about 4 layers of pigskin, on a well maintained machine, no problem. A couple of layers of saddle leather -- no. In fact, one layer of saddle leather-- no. You will want a "leather needle", which has a triangular point, for sewing leather. Denim, canvas, and such need a sharp pointed needle -- I'd probably choose the Schmetz Jeans needle for the job.
