What is this antique sewing machine?
My great aunt recently passed away and left me an antique Singer. She was born in 1919, and the sewing machine was her grandmother's, so I know it's from the 19th century, but don't know the real date. It looks like it is made of iron and decorated with black laquer and gold, and folds down into the little desk/table thing which has drawers on each side and the iron foot peddle. 1) What exactly do I have? 2) What is the apprx dollar value of the thing? 3) any ideas about where I could sell it?
It's a treadle sewing machine, and the value is going to depend on the condition, the model, where you are, and how much the buyer wants it.
