difficulty level of sewing stuffed animals?

hello! lately i've been wanting to sew little stuffed animals- namely little birds and elepahnts. i would say my sewing skills are pretty beginner- how should i start? a certain book? i have a sewing machine and my hand sewing isn't bad. i'd like to design my patterns eventually.

Personally, I found sewing stuffed animals difficult. I am an excellent seamstress but from my experience with the animals is that it is small and very intricate work. I did not enjoy it very much. You can go to a fabric store and look at books that would have patterns and the main pattern companies usually have some patterns to make stuffed animals. Give it a try if you really are interested in doing it. Everyone is different and you might like it very much.
