Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced sewing machine for detials such as letters etc.?
Im looking for a sewing machine that stitches details, like flowers, patterns etc. I dont want to spend an absolute fortune.

Those built-in stitches are not going to be as nice or as extensive in choice as what an embroidery machine can offer.
Combo sewing/embroidery machines start at about $400.

Brother uses the .pes format.
PED Basic reader/writer/card usually sells for just under $120.00
You download embroidery designs in the pes format from the Internet and then send those you wish to stitch out to the card. The card is then inserted into the machine for your selection to stitch.
Check with local sewing machine dealers. They may have a trade-up that fits your budget.
