different sewing stitches
what sewing machine should i buy?

i want to be a fashion designer and want to learn to make my own clothes.i wanna stitch dresses like tops, skirts, jeans, frocks etc.but what sewing machine should i buy?
i heard there are different sewing machine for different things you want to stitch.so wat kinda sewing machine should i buy?
i want the type not the company.or if there is some type that is only available in some company you can say the name.
if there is no name to that machine just give me the link to the site or the page where i can buy it from.

You do not necessarily need to invest in an overlocker to start with - but a good basic sewing machine which will sew stretch stitches including an overlocking style stitch, do buttonholes easily and do such stretch stitches such as a triple stretch stitch - it does a straight seam but does one stitch forward, another back and then forward in the one spot before making the next stitch - great for seams in trousers etc. Also good to have are the basic zig zag and stretch zig zag comprising of thre straight stitches to each part of the zig or zag
Another very useful feature is to look for one with a free arm enabling you to stitch in narrow spots and a machine with metal parts for the bobbin shuttle for good wear and tear and its also good to have one that opens underneath rather than on top - metal bobbins are also more useful because they last longer
I have a small budget model husquvana after having had an older more expensive model for 30+ years but some elna, brother and other brands such as these may be suitable for you
Have a good look around first and ask the store for a demonstration - when you have looked a bit - do comparisons and work out which is best for your needs
I have included several websites to get you started looking
later on you may want to invest in an overlocker - if you do make sure that it has differential feed - most important for getting nice seams on very stretchy materials anda also at least 4 threads
When you get a machine - make sure that you take advantage of the free lessons offered to get the most out of your machine
