Are there any good, cheap sewing machines out there?
I am wanting a cheap machine, nothing fancy. All I want it to do is sew diapers, hem and maybe the occasional baby legwarmers. That's it.
I can't afford anything over $200, and, to be honest, that is a stretch. I see them at Target for $79, and I am wondering if they would be worth the money, or if I will have more frustration and repairs than it is worth...
Is there something out there around $100 that is a good beginners machine?

I got a Brother from WalMart about 6 years ago for $80.- and it is still going strong. Mind you, I clean and oil it regularly. That helps any machine function better. Avoid the SewPro. It is not worth it. Any of the other machines on the other answerer's list should do you fine.
If you are looking for a long-term machine, check out the sales at JoAnn's. They have sales every couple of weeks, and there are always sewing machines in them. Sign up for their ads at www.joann.com and you'll find one soon. That way, you can get a machine for $150.- that was supposed to be $250.- It may have features the cheapest ones don't have.
