how do i make a baby blanket like this?
I am trying to make a baby blanket, the kind that is a small square made with different colors and textures and has ribbons sewn on the ends. its more of a toy maybe. i would love to make one for my daughter but i do not know how although it seems like it would be somewhat simple. can someone please give me advice or offer a helpful website. thanks!
I think you're wanting a "Taggy" or "Sensory" blanket. They're very simple to make. Is this what you are talking about?

Start with two pieces of flannel, approximately 10 to 12 inch squares.
Next, cut pieces of ribbon about 6 inches long.
Lay out one piece of flannel, print side up. Make a loop out of your ribbon and pin it to the sides of your flannel where you want it to be. Making sure the loop part is to the inside of your fabric.
Next, lay your second piece of flannel on top of the other piece but put this piece print side down. Your two pieces of fabric should be print sides together, sandwiching the ribbon loops inside.
Pin the two pieces of flannel together and sew around them, using a 1/2 inch seam, leaving a small opening, for turning.
Turn your blanket right side out and press it. Make sure you press the open part to where the raw edge is up in the blanket. Now topstitch around the blanket, making sure your topstitching catches the fabric where you left the opening.
Press again.... Presto! You have a taggy blanket!!
Hope this helps!! Happy Sewing!!
