Have an 1950's sewing cabinet. How do I attach machine to the swing arm?
Singer sewing machine. Bequethed from Grandmother. The sewing machine is supposed to be attached to the swing arm so it can be 'folded' down into the cabinet. Any help in figuring out how to attach the machine to the swing arm will be very appreciated.
there are normally holes that you can screw it into, But Over the years I have taken many (10+) sewing machines from people in cabinets (i usually fix them up make sure they work and then give them away) and everyone except for 2 I have never been able to attach the the arm due to something being broken. The old machines weight alot and the arm is usally only 3 or 4 inches wide and over the years the wood normally cracks making it imposible to hook it in correctly
