taking sewing machine to get fixed?
do i leave thread in the bobbin and everything, do i brin the box? i dont have a case but a cover what do i do when i bring it in?
Bring the machine with the standard presser foot, the pedal and the power cord. Leave a bobbin in the machine. Do not bring accessories or accessory boxes unless you're having trouble with one of them. Most repair places will just hand you back anything they don't need at the time you bring the machine in, because they don't want to keep track of stuff they don't need.
It may be useful to bring in or tell them what thread you usually use -- many a machine repair issue has cleared up with a decent brand or spool of thread. Might save yourself some $$$ that way. Ditto, check to see if your machine needle is in right way around -- I've seen a lot of machines that skipped stitches suddenly stitch perfectly when I turned the needle around.
Don't bother to put in a new needle, though -- the first thing that happens is a new size 12/80 needle gets put in for testing purposes.
If this is a warranty repair instead of a COA (clean/oil/adjust) or out of warranty repair, call ahead to find out what paperwork you need.
