finishing techniques sewing

What is the difficulty of sewing this dress?
http://www.essensedesigns.com/dress.php?id=153
I am not having a train and the dress will be the same length all the way around. I'm also not having a lace up back and replacing it with a zipper instead.
The pattern is being made for me and I have intermediate sewing skills. But are there any specific techniques that I should learn before going ahead with this? I have plenty of time to finish the dress, however I haven't worked with such delicate fabrics before.
Shouldn't be too difficult, if the pattern fits. I would probably underline the satin (it will drape like a much more expensive fabric) and hand sew the lace, but that's because I'm not fond of machine sewn lace.
I would also put in an inner belt to keep the bodice from pulling.
Best book I can think of to send you to is Susan Khalje's Bridal Couture:

Boning, which you may also need: http://www.threadsmagazine.com/item/4339/boning-not-just-for-corsets
Possibly also of use:http://threadsmagazine.com/item/4642/sheer-seams-and-edges
Satin can be quite a challenge to cut and sew, as can lace. I strongly suggest cutting the fabrics with paper under them to keep the fabric on grain, prevent distortion of cut edges and making your life much easier. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080513122819AAUTnSJ
