even more sewing machine help?

okay so i got my sewing machine to start sewing again. except the problem now is whenever i try and sew it makes loud noises and it looks fine on the top but once i look at the bottom of the fabric the thread is completely tangled and knotted. I've tried changing the needle, rethreading everything, and every tension setting. It seems like this would be a thread tension problem though... so what's going on and how can i fix it?
how do i change bobbin tension?

if the thread is messed up on the bottom of the fabric it is probably not the bobbin tension. i know it doesn't make sense but the top thread is the bobbin tension and the bottom thread is the top tension. sounds to me like you have a small piece of thread or lint in the bobbin area. take the bobbin out. take the bobbin assembly out. most people don't recommend using canned air on their machine but it has never hurt mine. use your lint brush (sometimes i also use small paint brushes) and canned air. one other thing that might be wrong is you have a piece of lint in the top tension disk. you can clean this but using UNWAXED dental floss in the tension disk and floss it back and forth. i would also take all the thread off the bobbin and re-wind another bobbin going slowly when you wind it to make sure it winds correctly.

hope these ideas help.
