I want to make my own clothes. Where could I get fabrics, buttons, zipper, dye (for clothes)...etc.?
I'm a college student now, and therefore, I have trouble paying expensive prices for clothes. I just recently got a sewing machine for my birthday and decided I want to start making my own clothes. I checked out many crafts stores in NYC selling necessities (like fabrics, buttons, zipper, dye (for clothes)) for in making own clothes but they were either too expensive or very very very poor in quality.
I used to live near Walmart... and I remember my mom (who makes her own clothes) buying all these good quality fabrics and dye for very cheap. But I don't live near walmart anymore...and am looking for a store like walmart - where I could get my atleast okay-quality necessities for cheap prices.
I know there's also ebay... but I got ripped off so many times and so I refuse using ebay.
Can anyone help me? Does anyone know atleast walmart-like quality and priced stores where I could buy my needs in making clothes, (perhaps even jeans)...etc.
