Good beginner sewing book for my 8 yr old?
Anyone know a good book that teaches beginner hand stitches and has small projects? We have some of the Klutz project packs but I'd like to make her her own hand sewing type kit for Christmas complete with a good book. My kids have so much commercial stuff that I'd like to sneak in a little traditional homemade gift here and there. Thank you!!!!
Singer has some really good books available. I think one is even in the age range you want for your girl for now and then advancing.
Go to fabric shop or Joanne's or somewhere like that to find these. I personally like the Bernina Shops for their book selections.
I know about the commercial stuff. As a grandma I give only crafting gifties to my grand giggles!! Otherwise they would only get whatever is the "toy of the hour" kind of stuff.
