what causes skunk oder on wooden furniture?
I have this wood table with my sewing machine on it. There are not any skunks in our nieghborhood.or under the house. There is no presence of a skunk (anywhere).
However there is this horrible skunk smell from time to time and It is comming from the table.
I Found the table along side of the road and it is a perfectly good piece of furnature to put my sewing machine on.
I usually dont pick garbage but it was perfect for my needs and functional.
BUT,,, It did not stink then. AT ALL!
What causes this to happen? THERE IS ALSO NO EVIDENCE OF ROTTEN WOOD. I am curious.Thanks
Congratulations picking up the table. I do what my friends call dumpster diving. Whatever can be used I pick it up and give just about all of it away to needy people.
Often wooden items smell because of where they were stored. Often in
damp places. I found airing them outside and also spraying them repeatedly with Febreze eventually gets rid of the smell. And then I
wax the wood. I have also wash some items with a bleach solution.
