Can anyone give me some ideas for a craft or hobby?
I am tired of sitting at home doing pretty much nothing but playing on the computer. It's starting to get old. I like to paint and make unique things, but I'm having a hard time finding something to get into. Any suggestions would be great!
(BTW...we have an old upholstery shop outside which still has the huge sewing machine(and a small one inside)and my dad's wood working equipment. I'm just afraid of cutting off a finger with it, lol)
I'm not saying I want to get into woodworking, just wanted to throw out that we have the equipment, lol.
Why not try Candle Making? Candle making is not really that hard, but you do have to be cautious (making candles involves high temperatures, flammable substances, and potentially harmful chemicals). The beginner should start with container candles (usually in tins or glass jars) as this will get you some experience working with waxes, wicks, dyes, and scents. Note that there are many different types of waxes (container, pillar, soy, gel) and scents (not all are all safe together). I would recommend that you look at some of the sites I provided links to, take a lesson, or buy an introduction book/video. There is a lot of good and bad information out there, please use caution.
