could i make this backpack bigger? ( sewing)?

This may not be strong enough for binders and text books.
You would need to decide how much larger you want the finished backpack to be and add to the pattern measurements.
Make a "muslin", which is a trial from cheap cotton muslin or an old sheet. If you like it, you have your new pattern.
