I recently bought a new bathing suit. It is designed to be strapless but it comes with a little strap to make it into a halter. However, since I have a large chest (38DD!) I need a stronger fabric to sew into the bathing suit to make it a criss-cross in the back. How should I go about getting to correct straps and thread to make it have more support?

If the detachable halter is stretchy then could you make it into 2 shoulder straps - probably wouldn't be enough to cross but would still support? You would need to sew them on with polyester thread rather than cotton as cotton will weaken when you get it wet.
