Sewing corners on baby burp face cloths?
I'm using a square single piece of fabric and simply folding the raw edges over twice and ironing in place before I sew. What is the proper way of sewing the corners? Mine seem very thick and my sewing machine can barely get through the folds.
I'm obviously new at sewing, haha.

Or you can use your sewing machine and a rolled hem foot (aka narrow hemmer) to hem thin fabrics quickly. The best instructions for this I know of are Carol Ahles (do borrow her book, Fine Machine Sewing from the library and learn to use your blindhem foot... it'll save you hours and hours and hours).

Or you can do the cheap and cheerful method I'd recommend for something like a burp cloth: round the corners of the cloth, then place the raw edges over a piece of stabilizer of some sort... a strip of adding machine tape, a piece of newsprint. Zigzag around the fabric with a fairly close, fairly wide zigzag stitch, letting the zags just fall off the cut edge of the fabric. Tear off the stabilizer and call it done.
Or the really radical method: Cut woven cloth so the edges fall on the bias. Bias doesn't ravel out. All done. If you're feeling thrifty, sew the leftover triangles together along the grainline and turn all the triangles into squares with cut bias edges.

Two tips for you... Pressing template to get nice, straight lines and a press cloth to turn the hem without scorching your fingers:
To turn narrow hems easily, put a piece of muslin or other thin fabric down
on the pressing board -- it needs to be at least 6" wide and longer than the longest dimension you're going to hem. Lay the fabric to have the hem pressed in over the muslin, leaving a couple inches of the muslin width sticking out. Lay a straight edge template -- I'd suggest a file folder opened out, or a piece of stiff poster paper -- with the edge of the file folder right where you want the fold. Stab a couple of pins through paper, fabric to be hemmed, and ironing board a few inches back from the cut edge... it's easier than growing an extra hand.
Now lift up the free edge of the press cloth and pull it towards the template. Use your iron to press the hem in, pressing through the press cloth and fabric to be hemmed. Nice straight line, one turn. To get the second turn of the hem, move the template over 1/4" (or whatever the hem width is) and repeat. No singed fingers.

And one final tip for dealing with thick seams: sewing hammer. No, I'm not crazy. Put the uncooperative fabric on something solid, like a wooden cutting board, and pound the thick spots in the seam allowance. They lie down and get cooperative. 1) try it on scraps first and 2) use a smooth faced hammer.
