How to create custom design jeans slippers using your old jeans pants
In case you happen to have a pair of old and overworn customized jeans in your wardrobe, which cannot be repaired, bleached or transformed into shorts or skirt, you can still use them to create custom design jeans slippers – glamorous and nice-looking.
To design custom jeans slippers we'll need a pair of old jeans, a piece of pressboard and a piece of any flat soft material you like – flexible foam, felt, leather or even ready-made slipsoles you can buy in drug stores. Besides we'll need scissors, thread and a needle.
So let's get started! We'll need to cut the base of our made to measure jeans slippers from the pressboard. The ideal sample for this procedure are your flip-flops. Just put them onto the pressboard and outline them using a pencil. Afterwards cut the samples out according to the lines using scissors.
Cut off the trouser legs of your subculture jeans and mark out the pressboard samples on the fabric. Cut four details from customized denim, but don't forget about seam allowances! After you've finished with this you'll need to sew the details together by pairs. We'll need to sew them together only halfway from the outer side, so that pressboard base with a soft sole could be put into them.
Cut out soft soles using pressboard samples or take ready made. Put the pressboard details together with soft soles into the halfway sewn together work pieces of custom tailored jeans slippers and sew them up completely.
The last procedure is quite easy and is most interesting of all. We'll now need to make the upper part of our slippers. Cut off the back pockets of your custom made jeans. Cut them out totally, together with the fabric of trouser legs, in order to get the pockets in which you could afterwards put something in. We will put the base of our slippers into the pockets and stitch the base so that the cut out pockets are fixed on it and would not roll up while walking.
That's it! As you can see, it is quite easy to transform old jeans into interesting and original jeans slippers! Jeans are versatile and can be transformed in different ways, and worn on different occasions. Harrison Ford even wore his custom jean on his wedding ceremony with Calista Flockhart on the Valentine's day in 2009. Why not?

Anyone know about sewing, How to bring in jeans?
I just bought a pair of jeans online and I really like them but the legs are to wide. Is it difficult to make the legs less wide.
Somewhat tedious, but not exceedingly difficult. You might want to think about saving them, though, as looser jeans are in the fashion forecasts for next year -- along with lots of dark denims.
You'll need thread that matches the weight and color of the topstitching
thread -- e.g.:

and needles capable of handling the thread.
Here's how you do it properly:
Place the seamlines (inseam and outseam together, thus folding in a line straight up and down the back and front of the jeans. This is the grainline, and needs to remain in the middle of the leg. Mark that line with chalk, or by basting it in. Next, fold the leg in half lengthwise, bringing the hem of the pants to the level of the crotch. The fold you just made is the nominal knee line. Mark it, too.
Tear out the hem,
Put on the jeans and figure out where you want to start the taper, and
how much you want to taper the jeans at the hem.
Here are the rules;
1) The grainlines must remain straight on the front and the back of the legs. This keeps the fabric from twisting as you walk.
2) You must always take the same amount of fabric from the front of the leg as the back of the leg.
3) Above the knee line, you can change either the inseam or the outseam or both, but the grainlines still have to be straight.
4) Below the knee line, you MUST change both inseam and outseam
by equal amounts.
So you're going to pin out your changes, then mark the changes on the inside of the legging. Next, you're going to tear out inseam and outseam at least to the knee, and perhaps farther out. Restitch the seams with the right sides of the fabric together. Generally the
felled seam is on the outside of the leg, but this varies -- that's usually the trickiest seam for a beginner to stitch.
Then rehem.
Personally, I'd far rather draft a whole new jeans pattern to measurements and sew it from scratch than go through the alterations folderol.
