Sewing for children. How to calculate sewing ease?
I can find ease charts, but I'm wondering if it's different for children than it is for adults. Should the same amount of ease be used for kids as is for adults
Also, the person I'm sewing for has the same chest and bust size, does this mean that they are overweight
I'm wondering because I'm trying to sew something for my sister's little girl, and they don't live near us, so I'm going to have to ship it to her, and I want it to fit.

Best thing to do is to measure a garment that fits the way you intend, and then subtract the body measurement from it to get the total ease. Otherwise: http://www.fibergypsy.com/common/ease.shtml
You don't want to use adult amounts of ease -- the kid will swim in the clothes!
And no, particularly in men and in children, bust and chest measurements are often equal or nearly so. It doesn't indicate anything about body fat percentages.
