Can you give me some ideas on this gift I plan to get my mom for Christmas?
My mom is 54,she loves sewing and I want to buy her a good quality sewing machine.My budget is $200 and I would like to know what else could I get her to go with it.I wanted to buy something she could put it on(a table) but I don't have enough.Do you have any other ideas.I was thinking about frabrics but I don't wanna buy it and then she doesn't like it.
with $200 you will only be able to get her a basic machine, I got one at walmart once for $150. If you have any money left over buy a good pair of shears that are for only cutting fabric, this is very important. You can also purchase good pins, get good pins that are long, with a sharp point at the tip, and a big ball or some other obviously visible object so they will not get lost in the fabric. If she is into quilting, get a quilting idea book. Or if she likes to make costumes for the family dog, get her a pattern for pets. Or you can get her an idea book on a variety of sewing items. Don't worry to much about a table if you purchased a table top sewing machine, you can pick up a computer table at a thrift store for a few dollars and it will work fine, a computer is supposed to sit at the same level as a sewing machine, it is all about ergonomics. By the way, this to me is the second greatest gift you can give someone. Your mother will love you.
