The downside is that this can only be done on lightly colored fabrics, as darker colors will affect the color of the ink being used.

Another such method of personalization and likely the most exquisite is embroidery. Embroidery stands out where the other methods of personalization do not, as embroidery is done with different colored threads. Usually the embroidered design is created by a type of sewing machine, which in most cases is computerized. Consequently, the detail can be quite stunning, and 3-dimensional. Items that are commonly embroidered into clothing can include logos (i.e. business logos), sports team names, etc.

ironing image on a shirt with latex?

for school art\design project, im making a shirt that has latex sleeves. the idea is that they are see through and look like you have tattoos on your arms. im gonna make a prototype, so can i print onto the latex in the same way i would print on cotton? like with the transfer paper? then i can just print the tattoo design onto the paper and then iron them onto to latex and then sew the latex onto the sleeves of the shirt.
help?
oh and where would i buy see through or skin coloured latex, or would i dye the latex skin colour?
and other ideas too would be great!

I gather that you are asking if you can use iron on transfer paper on latex.

The answer is "no." The heat required to transfer the image would melt the latex. That's why the instructions on the transfer paper state that it should be done on 100% cotton fabric. Cotton can take a LOT of heat while latex cannot.
