Has anyone worked with Vogue pattern2929??

I need help with this pattern. It doesn't work as stated. The zipper is supposed to attach to a straight piece and a curved piece. Also, the split that is supposed to be on the side is more in the back. It is a beautiful dress and in all of my years of sewing, this is undoubtedly the most difficult. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I haven't used the pattern, and the picture looks like it could be a challenge. As it uses an invisible zipper, I wouldn't be surprised that it was put in on the straight of the material even though the material is cut on the bias. If this is true it would look weird putting it in! From what you are saying, it sounds like only one side is on the straight and the other side is bias, that without stretching and if it were sewn straight down one side of the zipper would cause the blousing normal to bias drape. If I were to try, I'd measure the curved piece to see if it is about 20 inches, if not I'd send an e-mail to the company: typos have happened (normally we can figure out what was intended though!). Of course, putting in an invisible zipper seems weird at first anyway! The seams are listed as asymmetrical ... that too would make the zipper seem to go in crooked. Let me know if you get more info about what's happening to you! And, let me know how the project turns out, it looks like it could be beautiful when you get it finished! It really isn't clear from the picture whether the slit is caused by an opening farther to the back and the train coming forward .... even though it says side slit!
