how do you make a pillow case dress?
But not out of an actual pillowcase but with fabric.
i am a newbie at sewing but would love to know how to make these adorable dresses for my daughter. (18months!)
if you have made one and think you could explain it pls do.. i really want to learn. alot of the websites just wont cut it. and its hard to find any that tell you how with fabric and not the case!

measure across her with yard stick, not tape!! you want a flat measure from elbow to elbow. Now measure the length from her neckline to her knees.
draw a half circle the size that will go over her head, and cut this out. Use a saucer from your china and cut a half circle in the side just under the top shoulder seam.
Use bias binding to stitch around the holes. and put a hem in it.
take a measure from wrist to wrist with her arms outstretched. Measure the length you wish this to be.
have the fold at the top and then cut a hole in the center to fit over her head like a poncho. Now put a pin in under her arm so that it isn't too close to her body or arm. Make a pincil line mark down the sides from the pin. Sew this line to within about 6 inches of the bottom. Hem the sides of the dress with shirttail rolled hem. or stitch on lace. put bias tape in the neckline.
I have one "butterfly" top made this way for me and 4 lounging robes. I also have a "butterfly" dress made from a round lace tablecloth.
