i need ALOT of costume help!?!? ?

hi im making a costume this year because costumes prices are through the roof! For a living i design clothing but i don't sew them! my mom knows how to sew and has a sewing machine! i want to be something cool and easy to make! i was looking to make a eygyptian princess dress but i dont know i already made the sketch but i think sewing would be hard! plus i need a REALLY cheap fabric store (joann fabrics is way to expensive!) thank you!

walmart has clearence stuff, and im not sure if they have this in the states, because i live in Canada, but theres a store called fabricland and i got 2 metres of fabric (im making a high waisted skirt) for $4. But you can usually get fabric at walmart for $1-5 a metre.
