Can not Move Mouse on Screen â How to Repair it Quickly?

I have a mouse which has been used for nearly one year, now it seems to not cooperate with me and have a small glitch: itâ€™s not so sensitive as it used to be, itâ€™s hard to control and I can not move the mouse pointer as I like, it lags in response, positions the aim inexactly and sometimes even stops working.

I tried to uninstall, reinstall and update my mouse driver first, and then I scanned and cleaned all virus in my computer, I even reinstalled the operating system finally, but all of my efforts failed.

Since I am not going to purchase a new pointing device, I consider taking this problem mouse to the repair centre firstly, but later I realize that I have to use my mouse every day so I have no time to wait until it is repaired, furthermore, the serviceman there may just change some parts like micro switches in my mouse. So I decide to fix it by myself.

After looking at my mouse hitch carefully, I figure out that probably this sensitive movement is caused by too much dirt built up on the ball and on the mechanical positioning rollers. Then I take apart my mouse and set about cleaning the ball and the rollers. I focus my repair on the X roller and the Y roller.

I dip some neutral detergent on a clean piece of cloth, after that I use it to wipe the ball. As for the rollers, I tidy it with some alcohol, and itâ€™s best to drop one or two drops of sewing-machine oil on the rollers if possible, but be careful that donâ€™t let the oil flow to the friction surface and into some slits.

When I finish cleansing all dirt, reassemble my mouse and test it, whoa, my mouse becomes flexible as I just bought it!

Your manual for your machine should give you maintenance instructions. If you don't have one, try to get a manual. Sears may still have one available for yours at www.searspartsdirect.com, or there are sites where you can order a reprint, like www.sewing-machine-manuals.com or www.sewusa.com.

Newer machines usually require oiling around the bobbin case, and the rest of it is done by a tech when you have it serviced. If your machines is older and designed to be oiled regularly between servicing, then everyplace that metal rubs on metal when it runs should have a drop of oil. Again, your manual will tell you where.
