which sewing, embroidery machine should I buy?

I havent used one before but there is a deal on the sofia babylock embroidery/sewing machine 699.00 but im am unsure of which to get between the sofia or brother one at walmart, they look identical just about but the sofia has a usb port vs the brother just having a card port.

Anyone who knows much about machines help me out here should I spend the extra for what seems like a usb port?

I have learned that a machine with a larger hoop area is more beneficial.
