Brother CS6000i - Cheap And Simple
I've look at plenty of Brother CS6000i testimonials when I was looking for a sewing machine plus it matched up with my needs initially.
I wanted a cumputerized sewing machine that was easily affordable and light-weight therefore I could take it with me when I travelled.
I also wanted several stitches to work with. But of course, there was a lot more to it than that.
Investing in a machine, particularly for newbies, may very well be tough. For that reason I must help you make a decision with your sewing machine purchase so it goes a lot smoother as compared to it did for me personally.
The price tag Fulfils
First of all this computerized sewing machine fell into my budget range. I probably would not have looked at it if it was not. It has a list price tag of about $449, however , I came across it for over 60% fewer than that. When I picked it up, the sewing machine turned out to be below $150!
This sort of asking price will probably be very good for many beginning sewers. This would have been a good option for me when I was starting out a couple of years back too. But this particular device is surely not only for starters.
Accessories Galore.
The very first thing I was aware I needed was a wide range of accessories and feet within my fingertips. It's the worst when you put in hundreds on a device and it merely comes with the most basic feet and you've got to go out and buy others if you wish to make use of it on the same device.
When I checked closer at the Brother CS6000i sewing machine I discovered that it included pretty much every accessory and foot I would probably require.
Which are the ugly news?
If you are looking to work with the quilting table, it's a fantastic accessory for this appliance.
There is only one problem with it though; nothing keeps the legs from folding up. While you sew, the legs incrementally move and in the end they end up folded.
I noticed when reading other Brother CS6000i reviews, they said "the quilting foot features a walking foot, so I'm ready to speed up, and with more precision."
So exactly what is the concluding decision?
There are some very minor issues with the Brother CS6000i, for example with the quilting accessory. Some users grumble regarding the digital readout not to be well lighted enough, nevertheless I am not sewing without sufficient light nonetheless so it's not a big deal if you ask me. In spite of these issues, it's a reliable sewing machine.
I purchased this to replace my old Kenmore (which replaced my old Janome). This particular machine grown to be a whole lot silent and lighter compared to older ones too, due to the fact portability was really important to me.
The worth helps to make the decision a lot quicker too.

How do I adjust the speed on my old sewing machine?
I have this crazy old retro Kenmore sewing machine (definitely a few decades) and it has a bunch of strange thumb levers and knobs, and the pedal isn't pressure sensitive. The model number is 1120 and it's set into a little machine table. Can anybody help me out here?
It has been serviced within the last year. It runs perfectly, I just can't control the speed. It isn't uncontrollably fast, I would just like the convenience. The model number is 158.510.
EDITED TO ADD: sounds like you've got a bad controller, then. FWIW, the 158.xxxx machines were manufactured by Maruzen/Jaguar, a good Japanese firm.
Sears claims no parts available for that machine, so I'd probably send you to Ron Anderson at A1 Syewing if you don't have a good shop locally.
--------
Sounds like it's due for a trip to the sewing machine doc and/or a new pedal. When's the last time it's had a professional COA (clean-oil-adjust)? The insides may be gunked up with old oil and lint, so it won't sew unless you provide full power, or the controller in the foot pedal may be damaged.
