Kilt Pleats Threading?
I recently purchased a kilt, not an expensive one or a modern styled one, more of an inexpensive yet well made kilt for everyday wear.
I noticed right away that there are large stitches done down the pleats, they are loose and large enough to seem a bit out of place. After a few days, when they started breaking and coming undone, I thought that perhaps they were only meant to help keep the pleats folded during storage/shipping.
Am I right in assuming that these threads are meant to come out or have I just purchased a very poorly sewed kilt?

The pleats stay down without the threading, although over time I can imagine them flattening out.
I cannot contact the company about this.
It sounds to me like they were just temporary.
Sort of like the stitching that is in the inside of pockets of new blazers.
Do the pleats still stay down without the stitches?
