I Want to learn how make my own cloth ?
I love project runway and i want to learn how to make a dress , it seams hard but i guess i could learn , I know i need a mannequin and a sewing machine , But how could i learn ?
RoadyJane : Thank You , And yes i know how to sew cloths well not amazing but fine I do buttoms and when i was a kid i use to make cloth for my bratz toys like cut an old t-Shirt , yeah ill take classes next summer
First, can you sew? Before you worry about learning to design clothes from scratch, focus on learning to sew. You wouldn't necessarily need a dress form for this, and they can be quite expensive. Buy a store-bought pattern -- they make some simple ones for beginners, too. Patterns include instructions, but the beginners patterns really lay it all out for you if it's your first garment.
Once you are ready to design your own patterns, things get more complex. I took some classes at a community college that offers fashion design, and I still think it's pretty hard! I usually just buy my patterns instead to save time.
Start small and work your way up!
