my sewing machine is squeaky, I've tried oiling it.?
My 15 year old Brother is squeaking. I have taken it apart and cleaned an oiled it according to the manual, and I've oiled beyond what the manual says, basically every moving part I could find. It's still squeaky. Do you have any suggestions? Should I just use it while it squeaks? Should I get an inexpensive replacement?
Stop with the oiling. Oil in wrong place can cause more damage than good.
Something could be bent, or out of alignment or a belt needs to be tightened or changed.
Service will cost around $80 + parts....you decide.
If you do not want to invest, sew until it croaks and then get a new one. They start at about the same price as the cost to repair the old one.
