Painting the walls or objects at display can change the appearance of the rooms without much effort, money or ingenuity. Buy unfinished wooden furniture for your dining table, your kitchen, etc. and complete it yourself. This is incredibly easy and saves a lot of cash. You’ll have to put in some work in finding the budget markets for your needs and in improvising on the unfinished, cheaper products that you buy.
Stitch your own pillow covers, curtains and valances. Buy the fabrics from discount stores and shop during the sales which will immensely cut the costs. Rummage for the outstanding goods and, the great deals that you can only get at garage sale and second hand stores. You can buy some fabrics with little defects while they look like the adorable branded ones at a part of the real cost.
When you are fed up of your decoration pieces, furniture pieces or accessories you can swap them among rooms or exchange them with friends and family. Do not hesitate to mix and match different furniture and decorating items as long as they have something in common. The uniform looking room is passé. Think something unique and keep improvising on the designs of your accessories and arranging your space with old items in new combinations.
Kid’s Room Decorating Ideas
The thoughts of a child knows no limits. It is every parent’s desire to keep that spirit of childhood and playful imagination alive in their kids. Decorating your kid’s room and taking care of his comforts is a great way of ensuring the same.
Start by selecting a color scheme or a idea for your kid’s room. You can use a combination of colours in vibrant shades or apply themes like the woods, beach, pirates, sports, and an endless list of cartoon characters or fairy tales. Apply this theme to the walls, curtains, rugs or even the bed. Do not overdo the child’s room with too much pictures and displays, but just needful to make a lively, warm and safe den for your kid.

I want to re-upholster my couch...?
I'm going to start on an extra piece of furniture that doesn't really matter as much as my living room suit...
I've read a tutorial or two on the internet for beginners...
I'm pretty crafty most of the time and can sew.
Any tips for a first timer?
I have never done it before but I do love to watch HGTV and I am pretty sure I could do it. Lay your material faced down on the chair without the cushion on it. Drape the material wherever needed...on the arms and the back of the chair. (Have sections of the material cut for each part of the chair, making sure the design is going the same way) Use straight pins to hold the seams of the material pieces together and when it is all done it should be the shape of your chair. You should be able to sew it all together and it will fit on your chair. You will have to do the cushion separately. I hope I have made sense to you and I hope that I have helped you.
