how can i personalise my new room?

ok, so after school is out i get to move into a new room! it's a lot bigger. right now i share my room with the laundry room, meaning i have the washer and dryer in my room. so i have a queen bed and a dresser. the theme is a colorful one. the bedding i got is striped in orange, pink, lime green, blue, etc. the reverse side is polka dots in the same colors. my dresser is white with black drawers. i plan on painting the drawers pink or orange. i need a dresser which i am gonna put in my big closet along with my sewing machine. i also bought a lime green chair that has a pull out ottoman. i have a tv, but i need a stand. so basicly i'm wondering if you have any tips. are the things i mentioned above good? how can i personalize it? should i put pictures on the walls? what kind of window coverings? you get the idea. so please help me.

I have the same exact bedding. I painted my walls lime green and the ceiling hot pink. I made in shop class letters that spelled my name and nailed them to the wall above my bed, spray painted black. My curtains are just sheer white ones, because to get them in say, bright blue, may be color overkill. My TV stand is black. I also have a lamp that I bought to match the bedding, and a hot pink shag-ish rug. I also bought a ton of picture frames, and on an empty wall I put 4 bigs ones going diagonally down, and I put pictures of my friends in 5 x 7 frames all over the walls. Everyone who comes over says my room looks like something from a makeover tv show, or out of a magazine!! I love it as well. Hope this helped!
