What You Should Know about Embroidery Digitizing
Just like all other things, the world of embroidery and crafts is more advanced than it was 20 years ago. Today, people can have the opportunity to be involved with the process of choosing an embroidery design, not just the embroidery pattern. 20 years ago, one had to go to Wal-Mart or to their favorite craft store to buy embroidery patterns and supplies. Now, however, this can all be done on the computer. With this new technology, customers can decided exactly what they want embroidered, and it will be done. No more limiting your options to what has already been done. Technology allows us to customize our orders, making them more valuable keepsakes than the mass-produced ones we bought off a shelf.
Embroidery digitizing is the art of transferring an image or picture into a digitized format that a computerized sewing machine can understand. Once the design is sent to the sewing machine, the sewing machine takes care of all of its creation needs. Not only does the sewing machine save you hours and hours of time and energy, it also makes a perfect piece. The sewing machine will do exactly what the pattern tells it to do-it's not going to miscount or forget to put in certain stitches. With the embroidery digitizing machines, perfection is easy to achieve.
However, the actual transferring of the pattern is quite a bit more complex than the creation of it. Simply pushing a button is neither enough to create a pattern that is conducive to a digital machine, nor one that is pleasing to the eye. To start off with, a button is pushed, but then the real work begins. A trained professional, someone who may have had years of practice, then changes and perfects the design to make it compatible with the sewing machine. These professionals change things like color choice, shape formation, and things of that nature to make the piece more unified as a whole. This process often reduces the colors by half, but makes the final design look very much like the original. Unfortunately, some pictures are harder to transfer than others. The more complex the picture the more complex the design will be. However, with time and patience, a customer can usually have what they want to get.
Embroidery digitizing is not only used for decorations, as most people automatically assume. It is also used for all sorts of clothing, bedding, curtains, furniture, toys, and dozens of other things. Embroidery created by a machine is usually stronger than the embroidery created by hand, which makes the products you buy more durable than they would have been 20 years ago. The digitized embroidery machine also makes it easier for people to buy things that don't need any finishing touches. Years ago, women would add their own stitching to their wedding dresses and fine quilts, but that is no longer necessary. With embroidery digitizing, this process is easier than ever before. People no longer have to be responsible for making their things beautiful. The digitized embroidery machine does a fine job of that on its own.
In this age of technological blossoming, there are options available for things we never even thought we needed or wanted. Some may feel the same way about embroidery digitizing, but for some, embroidery digitized is a dream come true. It allows people to have the things they don't have time to make themselves, to have things that they couldn't duplicate exactly by hand anyway. Embroidery digitizing isn't for everyone, but the people who implement it have loved every aspect of it.

Where can I find a free dress pattern online? A 1950s style dress?
I'm looking for a simple everyday dress that looks like a 1950s dress.
Anyone who makes these kind of dresses, do you think they would be easy to make? I have only made one dress before.

This dress was called a shirtwaist dress . I don't think you can find it free on line but the public library will have books on this style in the sewing section and you may find actual patterns.
