Sewing Machine: beginners?
So there is a Beaumark 1030 for sale, I'm wondering, is this a good sewing machine for beginners?
I know to stay away from places like Sears, Wal-Mart, Target.
I want to eventually be able to make blankets, dresses, skirts, shirts,curtains, and I would also like to hem my pants.

Never heard of Beaumark; suspect it's a "badged" machine like Kenmore (Sears). Could be fine, could be awful -- I just have no reference for it. It looks like it may be Canadian Tire's brand -- will they teach you to use it, or are you just buying a machine in a box (in which case you might was well go to Sears, Walmart or Target.)?
